
Cops have lifted nearly £3.5 million worth ae illegal tobacco efter a string ae raids in Dumfries.
Trading standards and the polis hit a number ae addresses and uncovered over 4.2 million illegal ciggies, plus 66 kilos ae hand-rolled baccy.
They also grabbed near £100k in cash and seized a few motors linked tae the suspects.
It’s yin ae the biggest hauls ae its kind in Scotland, and officials say it’s a proper blow tae the organised crime groups runnin the racket.
Dumfries and Galloway Cooncil’s community safety lot said these fags might be cheap, but they’re pure dodgy – sometimes filled wi sawdust, mould, or worse.
Folk are bein warned tae steer clear, and shops caught sellin this muck could face bein shut doon.
Cops say enquiries are still underway, and they’ve no ruled oot mair arrests.
